I’m doing  NaNoWriMo  this year. There are a million reasons not to, but I’m doing it anyway. Are you familiar with NaNoWriMo? As you may know, my internal editor and I got quite chummy a few months ago as I edited every single word of my first manuscript. However, during NaNo . . . well, I had to tell her to hush. Quite a bit. I was feeling guilty, so I tried to have a little chat… [ read more ]

I have a paper cut. It’s on the tip of my right index finger. Every time I type, pain shoots through my fingertip and hand. I press on because I’m tough. But it made me think of things we should avoid during NaNoWriMo . I’m not talking about the usual stuff writers give up—sleep, TV, video… [ read more ]

Have you lost your mind? These were the exact words my sister uttered when I announced my plans to participate in this year’s NaNoWriMo . She pointed out that I was busy. She pointed out that I don’t have time to do this. She pointed out that my decision making skills might be questionable. And then… [ read more ]

Gotta love what a big sale and a BookBub email can do. (Neither of which I have ANY control of!) :)

Still, it's fun to see. :)

This lady right here...the absolutely high point o This lady right here...the absolutely high point of the week for me.

We haven't shared the same physical space in six years, but thanks to text messages, zoom calls, and FaceTime, we picked right back up like she never went back to England. Probably because we communicate in some way almost every day.

God knew I needed her friendship, her snark, and her ability to call me out when I'm all up in my head.

I haven't found a picture of just the two of us yet, but this one will work. This is the face of pure joy when she was about to dive into her first bite of CFA in six years!

Love you, Hackett!

You take her with you! I may be wrong, but I think Flat Deborah enjoyed the conference immensely. We bedazzled her for the awards ceremony, complete with earrings and lipstick. We took her to class, and we got her some mint chocolate chip ice cream. We even got some photos with some other friends!

We missed you ridiculously @deborah_clack!
